| Abstracts: | The digital era, along with the risks of the disappearance of natural languages, opens up new opportunities for their preservation and development. The purpose of this study is to examine the trends of digitalization of Russia’s national languages, as well as the experience and promotion of digital innovations for the preservation and development of the Chuvash language. The relevance of this topic is confirmed by the UNESCO initiative “International Decade of Indigenous Languages”, legislative measures, and the declaration of 2026 as the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. To achieve this, descriptive, analytical, comparative, quantitative, and qualitative methods in mathematical, computational, and digital linguistics were applied. The examples of digital project implementation practices and research papers on the country's linguistic digitalization are provided.
The article describes how the digitalization of the Chuvash language is currently manifesting itself in various areas, including vocabulary, grammar, education, and communication. The language digitalization is examined from four perspectives. The first aspect of digitalization is related to the presentation of the results of scientific research in mathematical, computational, and applied linguistics as applied to the Chuvash language. The second aspect examines the work of philologists, programmers, and enthusiasts in creating linguistic corpora of the Chuvash language and their role in various contexts. The third aspect focuses on the numerous websites, digital resources, online platforms, and services in the Chuvash language operating online and playing a certain role in the Republic’s language policy. The fourth aspect focuses on state programs and projects aimed at maintaining linguistic diversity and cultural heritage. Promising areas for the digitalization of the Chuvash language using artificial intelligence, neural network models, mechatronics, gamification, and virtual and augmented reality technologies are also considered. The conclusion emphasizes the creation of a digital ecosystem for the promotion of the Chuvash language, allowing it to occupy a specific linguistic niche in the digital world.
