Name of article:
KINSHIP TERMS IN MEDIA-BASED RECIPE: STEREOTYPES AND EVALUATION
Keywords:
media-based recipe, kinship terms, semantics, evaluation, stereotypes, culinary and gastronomic code of culture
Abstracts:
The article analyzes functioning of kinship terms in modern media-based recipes. The relevance of the work is due to its inclusion in the circle of linguocultural studies related to the study of the culinary and gastronomic code of culture and the axiological perspective of kinship terms. The research material is the recipes from the channels “Recipes with Photos and Videos – Only the Best from I’mCook” and “Recipes from Mamulya” posted on the Yandex.Zen platform. The main research methods are contextual and descriptive, involving the analysis and systematization of the material. It has been revealed that kinship terms such as mother, grandmother, father, husband, grandfather, granddaughter, and mother-in-law have evaluative connotations and evoke certain stereotypes and perceptions of family relationships. The use of kinship terms in recipes contribute to the creation of specific images, associations, and expectations. It is noted that the use of the terms mother and grandmother carries a nostalgic touch of the past. It is shown that the terms of kinship husband, father, dad are used not so much to describe how to prepare dishes as to characterize the process of eating: men are described as connoisseurs and lovers of food, as well as providers (fishing enthusiasts).
