This study analyzes the factors, stages and outcomes of ethnocultural socialization of students in higher educational institutions. Socialization is studied on the basis of the works of F. Giddings, E. Durkheim, T. Parsons, Ch. Cooley and J. Mead. The aspects of socialization described by A. V. Mudrik are considered; the stages of socialization proposed by Yu. A. Katilevka; as well as the results of ethnocultural socialization mentioned by I.V. Kozhanov, R. R. Nakokhova, D. Kh. Nakokhova and M. B. Salpagarova. The main purpose of the study is to analyze the factors, types, stages and achievements that we can obtain in the process of ethnocultural socialization of students. The relevance of the study of these concepts is determined by the nature of socialization in a modern multinational environment. The number of representatives of various peoples is increasing in Russian universities, which contributes to the development of intercultural communication and makes the topic of ethnocultural socialization important for studying in pedagogy, psychology and sociology. The research material used is the work of both domestic and international scientists dealing with the problems of socialization. The methods include analysis and generalization of the existing literature. The author suggests deepening research in this area to create a supportive educational environment conducive to the comprehensive development of students and the formation of a tolerant society.
