Abstracts: | The article considers the issue of teaching English grammar to children of secondary school age with the help of the educational platform “Vznaniya”. The search for effective means and methods of teaching a foreign language grammar remains an actual problem of modern methods of teaching foreign languages, in particular, in the context of Web 2.0 services introduction into the learning process.
The article reveals the main theoretical aspects of teaching foreign language grammar; describes the main stages of working with active grammatical material. The authors substantiate the relevance of using the “Vznaniya” platform with children of secondary school age, since the platform makes it possible to take into account individual needs and the pace of learning in adolescence, when children have a reduced overall motivation to study, making the learning process of such a traditionally “boring” aspect of language as grammar more interesting due to the elements of gamification.
The authors of the article cite statistical data from their survey of English language teachers in schools, which determine the current state of the problem of teaching grammar using the "Vznaniya" platform.
The article provides the basic theoretical aspects of teaching English grammar; analyzes the functionality of the Russian educational platform “Vznaniya”. The article also gives the description of the stages of teaching active grammatical material and provides examples of exercises on the “Vznaniya” platform for each of these stages.
The authors also present the results of testing the set of exercises developed by them to teach English grammar to children of secondary school age using the educational platform “Vznaniya” and conclude about the advantages of teaching grammar using this platform, if certain pedagogical conditions are met.
