Abstracts:The article examines a set of organizational and pedagogical conditions necessary for the implementation of educational activities in the Russian language in the system of general education of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The article analyzes the main indicators of the general education system in Sri Lanka, identifies the factors that ensure the effectiveness of educational activities in studying Russian as a Foreign Language. The relevance of the study is due to the national goals of preserving and disseminating the Russian language in the world, the interest of the Sri Lankan government in promoting the Russian language among Sri Lankan students, associated with the expansion of economic and cultural ties with Russia. The study was conducted on the basis of scientific publications of Russian and foreign authors of authoritative Russian journals indexed in international scientific databases, as well as information posted on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Sri Lanka. The theoretical and pragmatic research methods were based on methods of description, analysis, generalization, systematization, comparison. The conclusions provide the proposals for studying the Russian language in Sri Lankan schools using modern digital resources based on a cognitive-communicative approach aimed at strengthening the practical orientation of learning. As a result of the study of organizational and pedagogical conditions for the implementation of educational activities in Russian in Sri Lanka, the conclusion is made about the importance of further research in this area.
