| Abstracts: | The study is devoted to identifying and describing the color characteristic of the concept of yearning in the individual author’s picture of the world – the modern writer V. Lichutin. Linguoculturological studies of color continue to be relevant, because the color designations that represent color in the language picture of the world do not just describe objective reality, but reflect the cultural specifics of the national language picture of the world. The systematic study of the writer’s preferences in choosing the color of longing depending on its emotive meaning has become innovative. The novels by V. Lichutin “The Last Sorcerer”, “Wanderers”, “Split”, “Farmazon”, “River of Love”, “Fugitive from Paradise”, “Kill the Scorpion”, “Waiting for God” served the research material. The main research methods were the descriptive method, the method of linguistic interpretation of the artistic text, the method of continuous sampling, methods of quantitative, conceptual, functional-semantic analysis. The study revealed that the palette of the concept of yearning in the individual author’s picture of the world of V. Lichutin has ten colors, among which the most frequent are gray, black, yellow, blue and green. Lilac, white, brown, burgundy and pink colors of longing are rarely met. The author describes additional emotive meanings of the abstract concept, translated by color. It is concluded that the study of the author’s color picture of the world expands the understanding of the cognitive field of the concept of yearning.
