Abstracts:

The digitization of folklore heritage has become a key priority in contemporary humanities research and digital archival practices. Regional folklore archives face fragmentation of digital collections, lack of unified descriptive models, and limited platform functionality, which restrict their scholarly and educational integration.

The study is based on regional folklore collections of the Mari State University. The research employs digital modeling, hypertext organization of materials, integrated description of folklore tradition, and semantic annotation of folklore texts and ritual scenarios using artificial intelligence technologies.

The article substantiates the shift from viewing the archive as a static repository to conceptualizing it as an interactive environment for representation and interpretation of cultural knowledge. The advantages of thematic tagging and identification of invariant structures, motifs, and functions of tradition are demonstrated, along with methodological risks related to the formalization and algorithmization of humanities data.

The integration of intelligent technologies into digitization practices, while maintaining scholarly control, enhances the analytical and educational potential of digital resources and contributes to the development of a new model of regional folklore representation relevant to the twenty-first-century humanities scholarship.
