| Abstracts: | This work is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the dialects of the Chuvash language, as well as a critical review of existing classifications. Modern dialects are undergoing significant transformation, with the gradual disappearance of traditional vocabulary from active use. This process is difficult to document, as it primarily occurs in the oral sphere, and many such linguistic phenomena remain unrecorded in dictionaries. The classification of the Chuvash dialects can only be effectively made through a detailed analysis of dialectal features and observation of the speech of speakers of different ages and social status.
The article analyzes and interprets the features of modern dialects of the Chuvash language, and based on phonetic, lexical-semantic, and grammatical features, proposes a new classification of dialects that takes into account the opinions of leading experts and current processes in the dialectal environment. The analysis involves both fundamental and contemporary studies on Chuvash dialectology, and the method of external observation of the spoken language of speakers of various dialects is used. This approach allows for the acquisition and recording of linguistic material that reflects the synchronous state of the dialectal system of the modern Chuvash language.
