Keywords:

Abstracts:

The article is devoted to the linguo-pragmatic analysis of the functioning of diminutives in modern Russian-language Internet discourse and the methods of integrating this linguistic phenomenon into the educational process for foreign audiences. The relevance of the study is determined by the general trend of emotionalization of communication in the digital environment and the insufficient coverage of diminutives in the practice of teaching Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL), which is confirmed by the results of a survey of non-native speakers. Using data from the National Corpus of the Russian Language (“Social Networks” subcorpus), the diverse pragmatic functions of diminutives are identified: expression of subjective modality (benevolence, irony, contempt, familiarity, etc.), realization of request (R-3), greeting and farewell intentions, and term formation in the thematic group “beauty” and “IT”. Special attention is paid to the specifics of integrating diminutives into the educational process; a model adjusted based on the survey results and a set of language and speech exercises are proposed. The conclusion is made that diminutives are a significant element of the “discourse of new emotionality”, and their study in a foreign language audience is necessary for developing communicative competence and is relevant due to the presence of competing correlates belonging to level A2 and higher. The work contributes to the study of diminutives in the linguo-pragmatic aspect based on the corpus of Internet texts, investigates the problem of non-native speakers understanding the contexts of using these lexical units, and proposes ways to integrate diminutives into the educational process.
