Abstracts:

The article is devoted to the problem of the formation of students’ functional literacy. The relevance of the problem for modern educational practice is substantiated, determined by the importance of the functional literacy of the population as a guarantor of the stable development of society and each individual and the lack of development of the theoretical foundations of management of its formation in the conditions of digitalization of all spheres of public life. The purpose of the article is to reveal the patterns and principles of the formation of functional literacy of educational organization students in the digital educational environment of the region. The achievement of the goal was carried out using the methods of analysis of pedagogical research devoted to the phenomenon of functional literacy and the problem of its formation in educational practice, studying the experience of its solution in the conditions of the regional education system, and synthesis of the information obtained.

The article analyzes the role of functional literacy and shows its variable nature, which is determined by the level of development of society, economy and production. The article identifies groups of patterns in the formation and development of students’ functional literacy: general patterns (determined by the essence of functional literacy, its mission and functions), specific patterns (manifested directly in the process of developing students’ functional literacy), and patterns influenced by the digitalization of the educational environment. The article provides a description of the identified patterns. In accordance with the patterns, the principles governing the process of development of students’ functional literacy have been identified: organizational, didactic, and the principles of educational activity organization.
