In this study, an attempt is made to analyze the story “The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie” (2009) by the Canadian author Alan Bradley and “Scarlet and Ivy: The Lost Twin” (2015) by the British writer Sophie Cleverley in order to determine the age stratification of each of the detective stories (adult, adolescent or children's version of the crime text) through the study of key plot elements in them..

Subjecting teenage detectives of the English-speaking writers of the 20th–21st centuries to a thorough analysis in this article, the author applies comparative typological and genre methods, also uses a comparative and descriptive method. In addition, by analyzing the cultural realities of English life, the author of the article also works within the framework of the cultural and historical method.
