Abstracts:

The article presents the results of the analysis of Russian comparative constructions with a gluttonous way of comparison sausage. The purpose of the work is to consider the phraseological and metaphorical potential of the name of this sausage product in Russian comparative constructions. The novelty lies in the fact that comparative constructions with this component have not been specifically considered so far. In the process of describing comparative constructions of the Russian language, the following research methods were used: component and contextual analyses, structural and semantic modeling. The frequency of the use of syntactic figurative comparisons with the component sausage in the language and speech allows them to be transferred to the category of set comparisons. The comparative method, involving foreign language material, made it possible to identify at the level of structural and semantic models in which the image of comparison varies - a meat product of cylindrical shape, complete and partial equivalents in the corpus of set comparisons with the parametric adjective thick and its synonyms, characterizing the human body or any part of the body (fingers, lips, arms). As the analysis has shown, the word similar is most often used as the lexical means of expressing comparative relationships. Unlike the phraseological one, the metaphorical potential of the component under consideration is not really great. Almost all the comparative constructions considered have a negative connotation of aesthetic rejection (excessive fullness, abnormal compared to the normal appearance of a body part, alcoholism).
